The Mystery Hotel Budapest is a 5-star themed luxury hotel located in a historic 19th-century palace originally built by Hungarian Freemasons in 1896.
Oh, i wasn't sad i just needed a holiday! I will take you to the secret garden spa, where you can relax and enjoy a luxurious escape from home. This upscale, eclectic hotel is known for its mystical, illusion-inspired décor and sits in Budapest's 6th district, making it a popular choice for travellers seeking a unique, historic atmosphere with modern amenities, Then, we head downstairs to relax in the Secret Garden Spa, surrounded by beautiful greenery.
All the hotel's facilities are top-notch, and the staff are exceptionally friendly, treating you like a VIP. Honestly, you won't find this higher level of service in Paris for less than £500 per night.
People from overseas often assume that flights from the UK are low-cost, but it actually depends on the location and the type of flight you’re looking at. We booked our KLM flight from Humberside to Budapest for two peoples, and it set us back £700, not counting insurance, and it's a non-refundable fare. Compared to flights from Manchester or London, that's pretty pricey—it's like double or even triple the cost. But hey, we feel fortunate because it's super convenient, and our local has its own international airport, making it easy to travel all over Europe.
KLM flights from our local airport take just an hour to arrive, making Amsterdam really close for direct flights. Whenever we travel to Europe, we usually have to stop at Amsterdam Airport. But no worries, there's plenty to check out there! You can see the beautiful Dutch tulips, explore handcrafted items, and find unique souvenirs like chocolates, biscuits and candies.
Just a quick note, it's quite expensive—like, a bottle of Evian water that you can grab for around £1 at a local shop might set you back 5 to 6 times that at the airport. You'll also find a range of dining choices, from Western and seafood to Japanese and Asian restaurants, plus there's always McDonald's.
If you're flying KLM from our local airport to Budapest, you won't find any direct flights. Every itinerary has at least one stop, usually at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The overall travel time can vary quite a bit based on how long your layover is, but the quickest total journey times are generally between 6 to 8 hours.

It's a full tour of our couple's holiday, and I've captured everything from start to finish. You'll see the lobby, reception area, and the front stairs, plus our walks and elevator rides to the room for a standard room tour, the hall, the garden spa, the rooftop, and what we ate and drank. This way, you can get a clear idea before visiting the mystery hotel. It's really clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly!
The mini bar snacks are not complimentary, while the kettle, tea bags, and coffee capsules are provided at no charge. On the table, you will find fresh fruits, and a knock on your door will signal the arrival of boxes of chocolates. They are vintage, delicious, and have an authentic flavour. The designs of the welcome cards and chocolate boxes are both vintage and beautiful. They truly brought us joy and added a warm touch to our stay there.
We'll explore the room tour, dive into its history and awards, and check out what the garden spa, lunch and breakfast look like. The standard room and the lower price it is £160 per night, it is included free cancellation and you get spa access and breakfast buffet, which is an incredible price for a 5-star hotel.
This is the appearance of the rooftop restaurant; the weather is beautifully sunny, and you have the freedom to choose your seating wherever you prefer. The final bill will have a 14% service charge added automatically, but you can ask for it to be removed if you're not satisfied with the service, food, or drinks. Anyway, we ended up paying in full, because we were happy with our stay.
We realized we should have told the waitress that the cocktails were not okay and that we only had a few sips, almost 70% not drink of it. We didn’t complain because we were exhausted from our flight and didn’t provide any feedback on the drinks.
The cocktail was super strong and had a bitter flavour, which isn't what you'd call refreshing drinks. The chips are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a genuine potato flavour. They don't have that greasy or off-putting oil taste; it feels like they use clean oil for frying. and the burger were fine, it's not bad but it's nothing special.
The waitress noticed and offered to remove the 14%, but we decided to pay it anyway because she provided excellent service and assisted us in capturing photos and videos, so we just wanted to tip her.
The exchange rate for 22572 Budapest to Pounds is roughly £55. 14% service charge about £8. Your bill already includes a service charge, so there's no need to leave an extra tip. Some servers might ask you to add more when you pay with a card, but locals don't usually do that.
Be cautious! This is typical behaviour of tourist trap restaurants and cafes. You have every right to refuse the service charge if you are not satisfied with the quality of drinks and foods or the service. These are your rights.
Returning to the hotel room, we discovered another delightful surprise: two pieces of signature chocolates.
I wrote these honest review between 1:30 AM to 4:35 AM. It took over three hours to write the subtitles, and I am quite exhausted and feeling drowsy. Additionally, I am uncertain about how many viewers are actually reading it. I'm contemplating whether to continue writing subtitles or not. They are certainly beneficial, but do viewers prefer watching the video alone or also reading the subtitles? Would a voiceover be more effective, or should it be like a travel music video with no subtitles or voiceover, just visuals accompanied by music?
I spent nearly a month editing and putting together this full tour of the mystery hotel in Budapest. I filmed way too much, and my eyes are exhausted from it. That's on me, so it took extra work to selected the best footage. Moving forward, I plan to simplify all my holiday videos starting next year of 2027.
The staff at the breakfast buffet are courteous and welcoming. We appreciated the selection of teas, including a pot of high-quality sencha and jasmine green tea, which added a touch of luxury to our experience. The breakfast itself was of excellent quality, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay; it was truly worth the price.
