The world famous French bistro that's been serving one dish for over 60 years. It is a well-known steakhouse in Paris. We had heard a lot about this restaurant before visiting Paris, so we decided to give it a try. I had high expectations due to the restaurant's reputation and the numerous recommendations we found on the internet. We added it to our list of must-visit spots for great steak frites in Paris. Unfortunately, there is usually a long line. We arrived 15 minutes early to avoid the queue before the restaurant opened at 6:45 pm, but ended up entering at 9 pm after waiting for about 2 hours. Is it really worth the wait? The line outside the restaurant is quite long, but there are people smoking and vaping. I find it unpleasant to be around smokers in queues and have had to walk away many times. My husband is stuck in line and can't escape the smell either. Smoking in queues should be prohibited when near other people, as the smoke spreads and causes discomfort. Second-hand smoke can irritate the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs of non-smokers nearby. Smokers should consider the impact of their actions on others who do not want to inhale second-hand smoke and show respect for their well-being. The starter was an ordinary green salad with walnut sprinkles on top. They also charged an extra 4 euros for each additional salad. France served some sort of baguette as well in every restaurant table. Followed by steak fries with second helpings. It felt like they were not rushing us through our meal and so they ask for the next dessert but we seem like the accommodate the next guests waiting in line. I left feeling somewhat disappointed given my high expectations. Therefore, I don't think it's worth waiting in such a long queue since they don't take reservations. There must be better places in Paris where you can enjoy entrecote with fries for around the same price. The sauce on the steak was good, it tasted like mild coconut and buttery satay sauce. I requested my steak to be cooked 90% well done because I don't eat raw meat and was worried about its tenderness or toughness - they served us twice to keep our food warm. The meat was tender but not ribeye; more like braised beef or sirloin - everything tasted okay but not exceptional. The tables were stuck close together and there was constant jostling from waitstaff serving neighbouring tables. It was extremely noisy and overall not a pleasant dining experience - this place seems more geared towards tourists than providing an authentic French dining atmosphere. The food is decent but nothing special; while the meat is good, unfortunately, the fries did not seem fresh - they appeared to be frozen store-bought rather than freshly prepared potatoes which I expected from a restaurant of this calibre. However, service was very fast and our waitress was friendly. We spent a total of €78.50 for two individuals, which included beers but did not cover desserts. The cost was €29 per person for steak and chips with salad included, plus an additional €4 per person. Heineken was priced at €6 and Carlsberg at €6.50. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for creating a lively and bustling atmosphere without any other options available – perhaps as an experience with loved ones – then give this place a try! I hope you find this review helpful.

I provided an authentic assessment for this restaurant, giving it a score of 7 out of 10. It surpasses the average, which is quite commendable! Overall, it meets expectations, except for the extended wait time of 2 hours and slightly inflated prices. If you have a fondness for Paris, enjoy steak and chips, appreciate the Eiffel Tower, and find this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up to encourage me to write more honest restaurant reviews :)
